Estimates coming in on several village spring projects
Bluffton council received updates on several spring construction projects on March 8. Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, reviewed the projects with council.
He told council that he is seeking estimates next week for the Swiss Park Storm Drainage Phase II project. Three contractors have submitted bids. He said that he hopes to bring a recommendation to council on March 22.
The village received an estimate of $3,400 from Bacon and Associates for the annexation survey for South Main-North Dixie Highway. Mehaffie said that based on the scope of the work the project is very comparable to the survey costs associated with the Augsburger Road annexation.
Also coming soon are estimates for the engineering costs for the Cherry-Mound waterline replacement project. Mehaffie said that he also hopes for estimates soon on the Sunset Drive loop project.
Mehaffie said that ODOT is nearing completion of the paperwork on the Main Street streetscape project.
"Once they have completed their work we will have the numbers to determine the assessment amounts for the front footage assessments for the property owners," Mehaffie said.
The following meetings are on the village calendar:
March 9 - Flood control elected officials meeting, Owens CC, Findlay, 6:30 p.m.
March 15 - Water Advisory Board, Ottawa, 7:30 p.m.
March 22 - Council as a whole (utility discussion), 7 p.m.
March 22 - Council meeting, 8 p.m.
