Aug. 21 Allen Co. teen immunization clinic

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 21, 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Allen County Public Health, 219 E. Market St., Lima

LIMA __ Allen County Public Health will hold a Teen Immunization School Spirit Day on for pre-teens and teens entering grades 7-12 on August 21.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all required and recommended vaccines will be available. The clinic is located at Allen County Public Health 219 E. Market St. Lima, Ohio. 

Please call 419-228-4457 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome and will be seen as time allows.

The health department ask participants to bring immunization records and insurance information.

Parks & Recreation Committee – Bluffton Park Forum on Thursday, August 22 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. @ Buckeye Park

The Village of Bluffton Council held a regular meeting on Monday, August 12 on the third floor of Town Hall. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Rich Johnson, council member Dave Steiner was absent and all voting items were passed unanimously.

PARK PLANNING FORUM, AUG. 22
The Parks and Recreation committee encourages residents to attend a public forum on Bluffton parks development. All are invited to provide input, receive updates and help determine the future of the Bluffton Soccer Complex planned for Snider Rd., pedestrian pathways, Bluffton Community Dog Park planned for Lake St. and current Bluffton parks: Village Park and Buckeye Park.

The event will take place at the large shelter house at Buckeye Park from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on August 22. If the weather is poor, the meeting will move to the Sportsmen’s Club. For those unable to attend, information will be distributed at Town Hall.

A resident at the meeting objected to the planned location of the dog park on Lake St., citing concerns that it would decrease his property value.

M. Jean Reichenbach was co-owner of Reichenbach Lumber

M. Jean Reichenbach, 93, passed away peacefully at 11:33 p.m. on August 12, 2024 at Bluffton Hospital. Jean was born December 25, 1930 in Bluffton to the late Hiram and Martha (Augsburger) Burkholder.  She married Paul F. Reichenbach on July 25, 1948 and he passed away on July 3, 2014.

Bike stolen at National Night Out, reward offered

At the Monday, August 12 meeting of the Bluffton Council, Police Chief Ryan Burkholder reported that a bicycle was stolen at National Night Out on August 6.

He is seeking information on the theft. A $750 reward from the Crimestoppers Fund has been created to help solve this crime. If you have information about this incident, please contact Burkholder at 419-358-2961 x 109 or [email protected].

Beaverdam Council to hold public hearing on August 20

CORRECTION: The date of this hearing is August 20.

The Village of Beaverdam council will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 20 to consider the following changes in Zoning:

Parcel Number 28291103001000 From R-1 Residential District to B-2 Business District
Paracel Number 28291104004000 From B-2 Business District to R-2 Residential District.

The meeting will be held in the Village Hall Council Room, 101 W. Main St.
