International Women's Flag Football comes to northwest Ohio

On May 4-5, the International Women’s Flag Football Association, Ada’s Wilson football factory, and the Inn at ONU, hosted a women’s and girls flag football tournament at Ohio Northern’s Dial-Roberson Stadium.

Disc golf Team Mojo of Bucyrus organized a May 4 Star Wars Day tournament, which served as the first ever Bluffton Open at the village's Bluffton Hospital Disc Golf Course.

ADA __ The Bluffton High School boys and girls track and field teams each came home with first-place team hardware at the 17-team Ada Invitational meet Saturday in War Memorial Stadium.

Pirate softball blanked by Bath

BATH __ The Bluffton High School softball team lost 23-0 at Bath in a non-conference game Friday evening, May 3.

The Pirate girls dropped to 1-11 overall after the loss. 

Bath improved to 10-10 overall with the victory. The hosts slugged three home runs and two doubles in the win.

The Wildcats plated 11 runs in the top of the first to take a big early lead.

The hosts added seven runs in the third, and four more in the fourth.

BLUFFTON __ The Bluffton High School softball team fell behind big early yet rallied, only to come up just short 16-14 to visiting Columbus Grove in a Northwest Conference battle Thursday evening, May 2.

Sign up time for Adult Coed Sand Volleyball

Ready to feel the sand in your toes? Bluffton Family YMCA and Southgate Lanes have opened registration for Adult Coed Sand Volleyball competition with two games per week in two sessions.

There will be 6v6 coed play (3 females on court) for ages 18 years+. Games are on Tuesdays or Thursdays

SESSION 1: June 6, July 11
Double elimination tournament July 9 and 11 (no games July 4)
Registration deadline: May 19

SESSION 2: July 16, August 15, August 13 and 15
Double elimination tournament
Deadline: June 30

The cost is $300/team. Teams will play 2 games on Tuesday or 2 games on Thursday each week. The tournament will be split between both Tuesday and Thursday
