An online presentation in the Blanchard Valley Health System “Live & Learn” educational series will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, when a discussion will be held on compassionate specialty care.

Kruse family celebrates 50th and 72nd wedding anniversaries

David and Susan Kruse, formerly of Columbus Grove, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married on September 8, 1972 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio. On September 4, 2022 they enjoyed a day celebrating with family and friends at their home in Mansfield, Ohio.

Not only did they celebrate 50 years of marriage, they were joined by David’s parents Len and Ruth Kruse who celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary in June.

Sept. 13 memorial soccer game and fundraiser honoring Officer Dominic Frances

The Bluffton High School and Van Buren High School boys soccer teams will playi a memorial game honoring Bluffton Police Officer Dominic Francis, who was killed in the line of duty on March 31st, 2022.

The game will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 13, at Steinmetz Field, 9 Triplett Dr, Bluffton.

Imagine 500 vehicles in one hour traveling down Main Street Bluffton. 

That’s eight per minute. 

That’s one every seven seconds.

And, it happened on Labor Day, 1927. 

Yes, 95 Labor Days ago traffic on Bluffton’s Main Street averaged one vehicle every seven seconds.

Rockets football powers to 63-7 victory over Arcadia

The Pandora-Gilboa High School football team won their third straight game, overwhelming Blanchard Valley Conference foe Arcadia to the tune of 63-7 on Friday, September 9.

It was all P-G in the first half as the Rockets flew to a comfortable 49-0 halftime advantage.

P-G received the opening kickoff and quickly went up 7-0 as senior running back Ethan Luginbill ran it in from 10 yards out and Elam Suter connected on the point after kick with 11:12 on the first quarter clock-and the rout was on.
