Richland Manor staff, residents, family members get soaked in "Color Blaze"

Richland Manor's staff, residents and family members participated in the Lima 5K Color Blaze race earlier this month.

The event, held at the Allen County Fairgrounds, had over 2,000 participants.

Color Blaze isn't about winning or having the fastest time. It's about having fun while running or walking at your own pace as other participants and spectators toss various colored powders at participating teams.

Include ONE jpg of any item in your sale, or of a variety of garage sale items. (We can only post one photo.)

Bluffton elementary youth hone their basketball skills this week during a youth basketball camp. Bob Boblitt, BHS boys' varsity coach, leads the camp.

Starting Friday at the Shannon Theatre: Monster's University

Premiering on Friday, June 21 and running through Tuesday, July 2 will be Monster's University (G).

Show times are every evening at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Premiering on Wednesday, July 3 will be Despicable Me 2.

Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn flavor of the month for June is Birthday Cake.

BVHS corporate PR & Marketing wins three national Telly Awards

Blanchard Valley Health System’s Corporate Public Relations & Marketing Department has been named the winner of three 2013 Telly Awards in the 34th Annual Telly Awards competition.

BVHS received two Bronze Telly Awards for television commercials featuring Birchaven Village and Blanchard Valley Hospital (BVH) orthopedic services, as well as a Bronze People’s Telly Award for the BVH orthopedic services television commercial.

25 pies part of Relay for Life auction Friday night

Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera, will hold a homemade pie auction at Bluffton’s Relay for Life on Friday, June 21. 

The auction will begin at 7:45 p.m. under Salzman Stadium. Twenty-five homemade pies will be available to the highest bidders with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. 

A variety of kinds of pies will be available. If you purchase one that needs refrigeration while you take part in the other activities, members of the Trinity team will provide that until you are ready to leave the Relay.
