More than 150 riders tour Bluffton and Ada countryside

More than 150 riders toured Bluffton and Ada countryside as part of the seventh annual Ride to Remember. Proceeds from the annual event go toward building additional bike paths in the area.

Bluffton swimmers sweep WOAL championship meet

The Bluffton summer swim squad dunked the competition by capturing the overall, boys and girls team titles at the 39th annual Elks Invitational Western Ohio Aquatic League championship meet July 9-10 in Kenton.

Bluffton scored 2,675.5 total points to out-distance Wapakoneta (2,262) and Westside Swim & Racket Club (2,138) in the combined boys/girls team standings.

Bluffton earned the boys team crown with 1,443.5 points. The Wapak Wave boys were second (1,229), while Westside came in third (1,066).

The Dog Days Of Summer

It's hot, boys and girls. Thankfully, my wife finally let me use the air conditioner in our bedroom last night. It is a yearly struggle to get permission from her to use the air conditioner. This year it has not been that hot so far in Japan. But over this past weekend, it got warm quick, fast, and in a hurry. I happily turned my air conditioner on full blast!

Community VBS begins Sunday, July 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church

This summer's Bluffton Community Vacation Bible School is hosted by St. Mary's Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St, and it takes place Sunday, July 18, through Thursday, July 22.

The VBS theme is Rocky Railroad - Jesus' power pulls us through.

Due to the unknowns that Covid-19 continues to share, VBS will be delivered in a hybrid format.

All children and their families are invited to participate in outdoor activity stations on Sunday and Thursday nights.

Families are asked to attend in a staggered format to ensure social distancing.

Results from Day 1 of the WOAL Championship Meet

Swimmers from around the area aged 4-18 kicked off the 39th annual Elks Invitational Swim Meet and Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) Championship yesterday in Kenton.

Events started at 9 a.m. on Friday and concluded around 2 p.m. Day two of champs will begin today at 9 a.m. and will conclude around 3 p.m. at the Kenton Municipal Swimming pool.
