Three exceptional Bluffton University alumni will be honored this year during Bluffton’s Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 15.
In addition, students who have served as mascots J. Denny and Jenny Beaver in 2019, will be revealed.
Sarah (Betts ’06) vonSeggern will be inducted for achievements in softball. One of the best pitchers in Bluffton softball history, she was previously inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of Bluffton’s 2004 softball team.

Bluffton High School scholar athlete, Kyle Koontz, will sign a letter of intent to kick for the Ohio Northern University football team beginning next school year.
Koontz plans to major in computer science at ONU, and pursue a career in informational technology.
While a kicker for the Pirate football team Kyle set a record for kicking the most extra points in a game, and kicked the second longest field goal in the school’s history.

The Northwest Conference wrestling tournament will be at Columbus Grove High School on Saturday, Feb.15, with both high school and junior high teams wrestling.
NWC teams include Ada, Allen East, Bluffton, Columbus Grove, Delphos Jefferson, Lincolnview, Paulding and Spencerville. Crestview will also compete in the JH tournament.
Allen East won the championship in 2019 with its 8th championship, followed by Bluffton and Columbus Grove.

Bluffton council's Finance Committee will meet at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 19, according to Kevin Nichel, village fiscal officer. The meeting will be in the town hall, 154 N. Main St.

Bluffton men's and women's basketball teams both earned wins over Manchester on Wednesday. The game results follow:
Women's game
The Bluffton University women's basketball team welcomed Manchester University to the Sommer Center on a snowy Wednesday, Feb. 12.
The Beavers were able to pull away late in the fourth for a 65-58 victory. Bluffton improved to 12-10 (6-9 HCAC) while the Spartans fell to 8-14 (5-10 HCAC).
County Line Church is hosting a "Leap into Spring" garage sale in their barn, at 4227 N Hardin Rd. (County Line Rd.), on Saturday, Feb. 29, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Local vendors will be selling second-hand items, including vintage, antiques, household items, clothes, etc, plus handmade crafts, homemade foods and products from home-based businesses in the church’s multi-purpose building.
