Relay for Life pork dinners April 1 tickets on sale

Barbecue pork dinners will be served Friday, April 1, as a Relay for Life fundraiser.

Serving is fro 4:30 to 6;30 p.m., with pick up in front of the Bluffton Middle School. Tickets are $7 each and may be purchased at Village Cut & Curl or by calling 419-358-7593 or 419-358-5858.

Relay for Life meeting on Thursday

Bluffton's Relay for Life team meeting is noon on Thursday, March 24, according to Melanie Gerlach of the American Cancer Society. The meeting is in the third floor of the town hall.

"We are still looking for help with luminarias and survivorship," she said. Persons interesting is helping may contact her at 888-227-6446, extension 5212.

Findlay stamp show honors Vin Fiz transcontinental flight centennial

The Fort Findlay Stamp and Postcard Club marks its 57th year with its annual show, Finpex 2011. The theme of this year's show is the Centennial of the Vin Fiz Transcontinental Flight, according to Scott Little of Bluffton, who is president of the club.

This year's show dates are Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

MS Student Senate leads "Pennies for Patients" fund drive

Middle school Student Senate members

The Bluffton Middle School Student Senate recently held a drive for "Pennies for Patients," which is a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Students in each grade level were asked to bring in money. The sixth graders raised $422.02; seventh graders $538.47; and eighth graders $375.67 for a total of $1,336.16.

Members of the Student Senate also helped out during their "Study Hall" time last week to help clean up after the flood at Harmon Field.
