ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Mount Union Purple Raiders used a big first half en route to a dominating 5-1 victory over the Bluffton University women's soccer team on Wednesday, Sept. 17. The Purple Raiders continue their impressive season by improving their record to 5-2, while the Beavers fell to 1-4 following the loss.

The Purple Raiders started quickly, with four different players scoring goals in the first 34 minutes of the contest to take a 4-0 advantage. Bluffton sophomore Terrill Webb (Kenton) made it 4-1 with just under five minutes to play in the opening period, her second tally in as many matches. However, that shot would be the only one of the contest for the Beavers.

A late goal finished the scoring for the victors as Mount Union fired 21 shots in the contest. Freshman keeper Katie Neeley (Huber Heights/Wayne) came up with eight saves for the visitors.

The Beavers will return to action this Saturday, Sept. 20, when they take on the Thomas More Saints at the Sears Complex. The women’s match is slated for 12 p.m. and the men will follow at 2:30. Come support your Beavers!
