Teddy bears in Bluffton reacted to last month's nationwide craze of parking themselves in windows so that young children could look for them while riding in vehicles with their parents.
According to the Icon's count, 93 teddy bears participated in this project. Additional stuffed animals joined the fun including owls, llamas and even a beaver.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8. In cooperation with the Bluffton PTO, the Icon is posting drawings of elementary teachers created by elementary students. Haddy Glick, first graders, created this drawing of her teacher, Mrs. Combs.
The Icon invites all elementary students to submit a drawing of a teacher. Send to: [email protected].
Here's today's installment of the Bluffton High School Class of 2020 Senior Spotlight. Each weekday until the end of May the Icon will feature photos and future plans for four BHS seniors. The Rhodes State Police Academy is accepting applications for its Fall full-time Academy.

Bluffton schools will not conclude the 2019-20 school year early, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent.
In a letter to parents and students posted on the school website, Denecker writes that some schools are ending the school year early, but not Bluffton.
He states that decisions such as these (ending the school year early) are directly against what the Ohio Department of Education has advised schools to do with their academic calendars.
