Junior guard Andrew Renner (Cairo/Bath) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his work on the hardwood in wins over Earlham and Hanover.

Senior Isaac Zickafoose (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) has been named Second Team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association following a 2018 campaign when he earned his second HCAC Defensive Player of the Year award. It marked the fourth time in five years that a Beaver defensive end has secured the top honor in the HCAC. He is the first Bluffton football player since Ryan Aelker in 2015 to earn All-America honors.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team lost to a tough Hanover Panther squad by the score of 73-50 on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018. The setback dropped the Beavers to 2-6 on the year (1-2 HCAC), while Hanover improved to 5-3 (2-1 HCAC).

The Bluffton University men's basketball team won a nail-biter, 63-60, after trailing by as many as 16 points in the first half against the Hanover College Panthers on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018. Freshman Jameel Cosby (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) hit a clutch free throw with six tenths of a second left in regulation that sealed the victory when Hanover's 80-footer at the buzzer drew iron. Bluffton improved to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the Heartland Conference, while Hanover fell to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the HCAC.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team won a hard-fought battle against Earlham College on Wednesday, Dec. 5 by the score of 63 to 53. The win moved the Beavers to 2-5 on the year (1-1 HCAC). The Quakers fell to 1-4 and they also stand 1-1 in HCAC contests.

The first stanza was a back and forth battle as the Beavers and the Quakers exchanged baskets. Bluffton led 15-13 at the end of the opening period with nine of the Beavers' 15 points scored at the free throw line.
