Jurassic Park 3D at Shannon Theatre

Jurassic Park 3D  will be playing starting Friday, April 26 through Thursday, May 2 at the Shannon Theatre.

The film is rated PG(13).

Show times are every evening at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

ALL shows are in 3D.  All tickets are $6.

Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn flavor of the month for May is Caramel Nut Cluster.

Elizabeth Burner 1933-2013

Elizabeth A. Burner, 79, of Findlay died at 7:42 a.m. April 24, 2013 at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Benton Ridge to Frederick and Georgia Bivin Hissong. On June 23, 1957 she married Dion “Bob” Burner and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2006.

Zac Dysert "rookie" NFL card a popular item this spring in Ada

Here's a first for Ada - an Ada HS grad on a professional football rookie card. Zac Dysert, who played for Ada HS and Miami (Ohio), has his own NLF "rookie" football card. The front of the card shows Dysert is a passing photo. The flip side reads:

Zac Dysert is a strong armed pocket quarterback with some mobility, who given time to throw the ball will help any team at the next level.

As you might imagine, it's a popular card this spring in Ada.

Grove Alumni Association preserves 1936 community film

Wouldn't it be neat to have a 25-minute movie showing Bluffton in 1936?

The Columbus Grove High School Alumni Association has preserved two reel-to-reel films that depict the Columbus Grove community and school system as they were in 1936. 

The silent films were re-discovered by Laura Clevenger in the library a few years ago and, thanks to her, were saved and moved into the new building.

St. John's UCC beef and noodle dinner on Friday

St. John's United Church of Christ will hold a beef and noodle dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 26, at the church, 223 W. College Ave., Bluffton.

The dinner includes homegrown beef, noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, roll, homemade pie and beverages.

The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for college students, $4 for elementary students and is free to all pre-kindergarten youth.
