Obituaries

Walter Ray “Bud” Kimble, 69 died Sept. 12, 2016, at Lima Memorial Hospital.  He was born to the late Alfred S. and Evelyn (Dye) Kimble.

Bud served in the U.S. Navy.  He had worked at Ford Motor Company and also at Bath Township Fire Department. 

Survivors include a daughter Lisa Brandt; two sisters, Joyce Shields of Delphos, Connie Sherer of Bluffton; a brother David Kimble of Lima; and two grandsons, Brian and Shawn.

Bud was preceded in death by two sisters Coeta Gunn and Alice Stoodt; and a nephew Steven Gunn.

Gregg J. Luginbuhl, 67, of Bluffton died the morning of Sept. 26, 2016, at St. Rita’s Inpatient Hospice in Lima, Ohio. He was born Jan. 20, 1949, in Bluffton to Darvin and Evelyn (Johnson) Luginbuhl. On Nov. 3, 1977, he married Karen Nelson and she survives. 

Gregg was professor of art and chair of the art department at Bluffton University for 30 years before his retirement in 2014 when he was named professor emeritus. Prior to coming to Bluffton, Gregg taught at the University of Findlay for eight years.  

Gregg J. Luginbuhl, 67, died  Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at St. Rita’s Inpatient Hospice Center, Lima. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. 

Visitation will be Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the church.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Ruthella (Romick) Baier, 84, of Lima and formerly of Ada, died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 10:35 a.m. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on May 20, 1932, the daughter of Arlie and Esta (Van Houten) Romick who preceded her in death.

Chauncey Gilbert Basinger, 90, died Sept. 19, 2016 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.  Chauncey was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Allen County, Ohio to the late Millard and Sylvia (Spallinger) Basinger. On Nov. 6, 1949, he married Miriam Anderson Basinger who preceded him in death on June 8, 2010.

Chauncey retired from Ex-Cello Corporation in Bluffton.  He was a member of the Columbus Grove United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post in Columbus Grove and the Columbus Grove Lions Club.  Chauncey was an Army veteran serving in World War II.

Was on CNB board for over 40 years

Albert Ellis Ingalls, 91, died Sept. 17, 2016, at 1:38 p.m. at Bluffton Hospital.  Al was born Aug. 3, 1925, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Morris and Clara (Conrad) Ingalls.  On April 7, 1945, he married Mildred (Campbell) Ingalls who preceded him in death on July 14, 2011.

Al graduated from Bluffton High School and then served in the U.S. Navy.  After returning from his service in the Navy, Al purchased the Pine Restaurant in Bluffton with Don Martz.  He later built and started Ingalls Restaurant in Bluffton which he owned and operated with his wife and family for 36 years.
