COVID vaccines: Will Novavax be next?

A welcome sign as we continue to fight this pandemic

As we move into the early months of spring 2021, things look quite different than they had a year ago. 

The masking and social distancing has stuck around (and rightfully so), but we are moving forward with the goal of regaining that sense of normalcy that may mean something different for each one of us.

Lady Pirates fall to Elida 4-2

Ashley Fleece and Kennedi Jordan each singled twice. Dyllan Worcester collected 2 singles and 1 RBI. Grace Myers added a single.

ELIDA - Host Elida defeated the Bluffton aoftball team 4-2 in a close non-league game Monday night.

The Lady Pirates fell to 0-5 with the defeat, while the Bulldog girls improved to 2-2 after the win.

Elida plated single runs in each of the first two innings. Bluffton halved the deficit with a run in the top of the fourth inning. 

The hosts responded with a run in the bottom of the fourth frame, and added one more in the fifth to go ahead 4-1.

Mom 2 Mom sale Saturday at BFR

Bluffton Family Recreation will hold a Mom to Mom sale, from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 10, at BFR, 215 Snider Road.

There is no vendor fee, but donations are welcome. Persons may register online and specify the number of tables you will bring (limit of 3 per vendor).

The Blanchard and Sandusky River Watersheds announce a photo contest open to residents and amateur photographers in the watersheds.

The contest runs now through July 31 and provides awards of first, second and third place, best of show and people’s choice. Categories are:
• River/water
• Landscapes
• Plants
• Wildlife
• River recreation
