Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) of Bluffton launched a nine-month renovation project at the Mennonite Memorial Home campus main building on April 1.
“The $1 million project will create a state-of-the-art Rehabilitation and Wellness Center focusing on patients with short-term needs,” said Laura Voth, MHCO chief operating officer.
M&W Construction, Lima, is the project’s general contractor. Don Burris of Bluffton, is the project manager and Nick Mathewson also of Bluffton, is the project superintendent.
Raymond Harner has been a serious cyclist since age 13, and has always wanted to ride a bike race in Italy. On April 28 he will realize that dream.
Fizik, an Italian manufacturer of racing shoes and saddles, hosts its annual Granfondo race through the beautiful Italian Alps. Harner, who owner of CG Pro Bikes in Columbus Grove, an Icon advertiser, was a lucky recipient of this opportunity in addition to a handful of Fizik’s Italian bicycle shoe dealers. He will spend several days in Italy.

Bluffton High School artists had a successful spring as several BHS pieces were admitted to the Kewpee Art Show and were judged for the Governor's Art Show, according to Vickie Garmon, Bluffton High School art teacher.
Four pieces were selected for the Governor's Show from Bluffton's region. One of those four pieces was a sculpure created by Celeste Stauber.

Ohio Northern University engineering students under the direction of Bluffton resident, J.D. Yoder, professor and chair of mechanical engineering, along with Sami Khorbotly, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, have created a team of robotic football players.
