A comedy-infused Ultimate Date Night takes place at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Columbus Grove Road.
The evening includes a dinner and performance by the comic team, Jay and Laura Laffoon, who describe themselves as marriage “educ-tainers.”
Their presentation helps couples learn how to create and regularly celebrate a thriving marriage while exploring the realities that everyday life brings to the relationship.
In commemoration of the dramatic sacrifice of four armed forces Chaplains during World War II, the Bluffton American Legion will observe Religious Emphasis Week, Feb. 4 to Feb. 10.
Bluffton American Legion Post 382, Chaplain Donald Rock has announced the post will observe the sacrifice of Four Armed Forces Chaplains during World War II, during the Sunday, Feb. 4, worship service at Emmanuel United Church of Christ 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton.
The public is welcome to attend the service, which begins at 10 a.m.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 1-6 p.m.

The second annual Community Chili Cook-off is planned for Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Bluffton Presbyterian Church.
The competition between local "chefs" will be held in the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium. The winner will be determined by "People's Choice" after tasting each entry. All proceeds will support Bluffton Community Assistance's Food Pantry.
Community members are invited to learn more about entering the chili competition or serving as a volunteer on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Bluffton Presbyterian Church.
The Pandora United Methodist Church will be host a free Community Meal on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 5:30 to 7: p.m. in the church fellowship hall, 108 E. Washington St., Pandora.
The meal this month is provided by the 7’oclock Flock. The menu is tomato soup, crackers, grilled cheese sandwich, relish tray, cake, beverage.
Ebenezer Mennonite Church hosts a Human Trafficking Awareness Seminar Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 20-21 at the church, 8905 Columbus Grove Road, Bluffton.
The seminar is part of the congregation's January Human Trafficking Awareness Month awareness.
