A discussion of Abraham Verghese's book "Cutting for Stone" will take place in the family room of Maple Crest Senior Living Village on Monday, Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m.

Beginning Monday, September 12, storytime for preschoolers ages 3-5 will be held at the Bluffton Public Library on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Themes this fall include apples, scarecrows, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Storytime will also celebrate National Honey Month in September and Young Reader's Day on November 8.

Each storytime session is approximately 35-40 minutes long and includes stories, songs, fingerplays and other related activities. Parents or caregivers must register their child at the library's circulation desk.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in Indiana and Ohio), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.

Senior citizen breakfast at the Bluffton middle school are set for the 2011-12 school year, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent. The breakfasts begin at 8:30 a.m. in the middle school cafetorium with the following schedule and student entertainers:
