LACROSSE, Wis. - The 2018 Bluffton University track and field season ended on a high note in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Saturday, May 26 at the NCAA National Track & Field Championship meet. Gabe Makin (Elida) capped a stellar freshman campaign with an All-American performance in the men’s pole vault.

Book discussion this spring by university faculty and staff

During the spring 2018 semester, more than 20 Bluffton University faculty and staff members gathered weekly to discuss the importance of a peaceable vision of education in and beyond Mennonite schools, colleges and universities the book “Education with the Grain of the Universe,” edited by J. Denny Weaver, professor emeritus of religion.
 
Faculty and staff held weekly conversations with hopes to find new ways to implement peace into education throughout the campus community.

NFCA release

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Seniors Brittany Huff (Clayton/Northmont) and JOSIE MCELROY (Mt. Orab/Western Brown) have been named All-Central Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Huff earned Second Team honors, while McElroy was selected Honorable Mention. It marks the ninth and tenth NFCA All-Region selections for the Beavers, including three straight years for McElroy!

Heartland Conference release

The Bluffton University baseball team reaped the benefits of its first trip to the Heartland Conference tournament when the All-HCAC awards were handed out on Tuesday, May 15.

Jacob Latkofsky (Temperance, Mich./Ida) was the Freshman of the Year, while fellow freshman Garrett O'Reilly (Galena/Orange) joined him on the First Team.

Junior Dante D'Andrea (Westerville/North) was a Second Team All-Heartland selection and Colin Gregory (Fremont/Clyde) secured Honorable Mention recognition.

Aaron Krepps replaces Denny Dorrel

Aaron Krepps from Ada, has been promoted to head football coach of the Bluffton University Beavers.

He replaces Denny Dorrel who resigned after four season to become the Athletics Director at Franklin County High School, his alma mater, in Brookville, Ind. Krepps previously served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Beavers.
