Icon travel editors file this story and photos from Bluffton, Alberta

The Icon's travel editors, Dan and Brenda Groman, filed this story and photos today on their visit to Bluffton Alberta.

We were traveling from Lloydminster to Calgary by way of Edmonton while in Alberta, Canada on business.

We set our Garmin for Bluffton, and headed two hours southwest of Edmonton and found Bluffton, right off of Route 20.

Arriving on the North side of town, we found the Bluffton School, home of the Bluffton "Stingers", where students from Kindergarten through 9th grade attend.

Older students are bused to Rimbey (about 14 kilometers away). We then traveled south through town, passing the Bluffton Veterinary Clinic and then finding the Bluffton Post Office. We stopped in and visited with Violet, Bluffton's Postmistress. She told us that Bluffton has a population of about 100 people, and that the Bluffton Post Office serves about 500 in the greater Bluffton area. She postmarked an envelope for us.

We left her a copy of our Bluffton News and told her about the Bluffton Icon and about "our" Bluffton, Ohio. Violet was getting ready for a Customer Appreciation Day at the Bluffton Post Office the next day, and she was looking forward to having the townspeople read through our Bluffton News and reading more on the Icon.

We then explored some more of Bluffton, and had a visit at the Bluffton General Store before heading on toward Calgary.
