Marilyn Treft 1934-2012
Marilyn Faith Painter Treft, 77, died, April 17, 2012. She was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Rawson to Warren and Georgia Smith Painter and they preceded her in death. On May 20, 1955 she married John LeRoy Treft from Findlay and he survives in Bluffton.
Also surviving are two sons, John Mark Treft, Charles Millard (Susan) Treft, two daughters, Myra Faith (Randy) Warnecke, Christine Faith (David) Buxton, and a sister, Betty Marie Painter Helms. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Robert Painter.
Mrs. Treft was singing in nightclubs and her favorite story is after she became born again she chose to be a stay at home mom, foster-homed seven children, mothered four children, nurtured 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, inspirational speaker, soloist, pianist and organist, most recently at Findlay Upper Room Church of God.
She recently retired Bluffton Sewing Boutique, which she ran from her home.
Her body will be cremated. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements are by Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
