Celebrating 102 years with Trudy Baber

Maple Crest resident Trudy Baber is described by her neighbors as a “spitfire” and it’s easy to see why. She was born on March 30, 1922 but you would never guess that she is 102 years old. When Trudy moves briskly down the hallway with her walker, it looks more like a convenient place to transport her slice of birthday cake than anything else.

Pirate Braeden Jordan signs baseball letter of intent with Wright State

Bluffton High School senior Braeden Jordan has signed a Letter of Intent to play college baseball at Wright State University-Lake Campus in 2024-2025. 

Jordan is an all-NWC Centerfielder for the Pirates baseball team and a member of the Findlay Legion baseball team. He was also an all-NWC and All-District Receiver for the Pirate football team. Braeden is also an Academic All-Ohio for the Pirates. 

Jordan will join Coach John Bailey at the Wright State Lake Campus next fall and is undecided on his major.

Two BHS students featured in Governor’s art show

The work of two talented Bluffton High School art students will be on display at the 54th annual Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition, which will open on Sunday, April 21, at the Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus. The juried exhibition is comprised of creative expressions in the visual arts created by outstanding and talented students from Ohio's high schools.
