BHS girls' 4th of 21 teams at Grove Invitational

CC Runners Set Personal Records at Grove Invitational Last Saturday, September fourth, the Pirate cross country runners piled into a school bus and made the short drive to the Columbus Grove Invitational.
The Grove course was a speedy one – a triple loop down open stretches of cheering fans and flat forest trails that spits you out onto the track for the last 300 meters.
Gable/Sprague remained undefeated at Findlay
By Fred Steiner | Sun, Sep 5, 2010Recent tennis results for the BHS girls netters show a close loss at Napoleon and three doubles teams placing at the Fostoria Invitational (at Findlay) Jess Hunter, Liz Diller and Rachel Sehlhorst lost singles matches at Napoleon, while the doubles teams of Ashlin Gable/Emily Sprague and Kristi Geiser/Shannon Koch were victorious.
Gable/Sprague remained undefeated at Findlay, taking the No. 1 doubles title, while the doubles teams of Geiser/Koch and Hunter/Diller each placed third.

Koch's FG with 6 seconds left, puts BHS on top of Carey

The Blue Devils, who demolished the Pirates last year, were tied at 28-28 with seconds on the clock.
Then came the big defensive play from the Big Red. BHS tackled Bryce Orians for a 3-yard loss as the Blue Devils were in a punt formation. The big play came with 30 ticks remaining in the game.
With only 6 seconds on the Harmon Field clock, the Pirates’ Christian Koch booted a 33-yard field goal.
The result: BHS 31 – Carey 28.
Van Buren outlasts Lady Pirates 7-1

The Bluffton High School girls' soccer team lost a tough match on Sept. 2 to Van Buren.
Bluffton hosted the Van Buren Knights. Approximately 3 minutes into the game Van Buren shot its first goal of many. Soon the score was 3-0.
Dulle had a left-footed shot close to half time for Bluffton. Her shot was assisted by Jill Steinmetz.

Gable-Sprague, Geiser-Diller duos keep winning
By Fred Steiner | Wed, Sep 1, 2010Bluffton High School's girls' tennis team swept the doubles, but lost all three singles in a 3-2 loss at Lima Bath Tuesday. Pirate ladies taking wins were Ashlin Gable and Emily Sprague in straight 6-0 sets at No. 1 doubles, while Kristie Geiser and Liz Diller lost only three games in straight set wins at No. 2 doubles.
Pirates dropping two sets each in singles were Shannon Koch at No. 1, Jess Hunter at No. 2 and Rachel Sehlhorst at No. 3. Bluffton was to host Wapakoneta Wednesday afternoon at Harmon Field courts.
Gable-Sprague win in Lima for BHS
By Fred Steiner | Sun, Aug 29, 2010The BHS girls' tennis team placed fifth at the Lima City Invitationals last Saturday, behind four Western Buckeye League teams.
Ashlin Gable and Emily Sprague combined to win the A flight doubles, taking three matches in straight sets. Jess Hunter won one match before losing in the semifinals, while Kristi Geiser and Liz Diller won their first match and were eliminated in the semifinals.
The netters are at Bath Tuesday and host Wapakoneta, the Lima champions, Wednesday at Harmon Field courts.
Van Buren, Defiance next on BHS girls's soccer slate

The Lady Pirates girls' soccer team come out strong in their season against the Ada Bulldogs Monday evening at Steinmetz Field.
Megan Dulle set the pace with a goal assisted by Jill Steinmetz just six minutes into the game. Steinmetz added a goal a short four miutes later.
The Pirates were pumped and never looked back. The goals kept coming. Katie Palte and Kelly McCarthy also made their contrabutions with assists by Steinmetz and Rachel Yoder.
