Pirate girls open hoop season with tourney By Cort Reynolds
Bluffton will once again host the annual McDonald's Holiday Tournament to tip off the girls basketball season this weekend.
The Lady Pirates will host local non-league rival Cory-Rawson in the second semifinal Friday night, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. That contest will be preceded by the opener at 5:30 p.m. between Allen East and defending tourney champion Arlington.

Oct. 28 – Tia Kate Layman, daughter of Tyler and Kate Layman, Lima
Oct. 29 – Reagan Marie Lee, daughter of Josh and Kim Lee, Bluffton
The community meal scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19 has been canceled. With the high number of COVID cases in the area, it was decided that it was unsafe for the volunteers to be working so closely together to prepare the meal, according to Tonya Meyer of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center.
The only memory I have from Kindergarten was the morning I arrived to find that the classroom door was already closed. This obviously meant that I could not go in and maybe even meant that school had been cancelled, so I headed home. - Roger Triplett
