Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center once again was awarded an ‘A’ in the fall Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing St. Rita’s achievements providing safer health care.
This is the sixth consecutive top grade awarded to St. Rita’s by the nationally recognized rating organization.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted provided the following updates on Ohio's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
VACCINATIONS BEGIN IN OHIO
The first COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered in Ohio. Shipments of 975 doses were delivered this morning to both The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus and UC Health in Cincinnati.
Several healthcare workers and personnel who are routinely involved with the care of COVID-19 patients immediately received vaccinations.

Bluffton police chief, Ryan Burkholder, notified the Icon today that a solicitation that appears to be from the Bluffton police is a scam.
"It appears they (scammers) are trying to use the police department to solicit funds. The organization is label as the 2020 Bluffton Emergency Appeal National Police Association, which we are not apart of," said Burkholder
"Please do not give to this organization," he said.

Bids opened for the Jefferson Street Phase II project next summer are encouraging, Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, informed Bluffton council members on Monday.
“The bids were opened on Dec. 3 and range from $838,539 to just over $1 million,” said Blackburn.
He added that the village engineering firm, Choice One, has provided the village with a bid review and the project should be awarded at the next council meeting.
