Sue Van Eman of Bluffton University was the featured speaker at the Bluffton High School Academic Letter banquet on March 22.

The academic letter is an effort on the part of the school to give more prominent recognition to outstanding students. In striving to encourage academic excellence, honor students should be made aware that their achievements are worthy of praise and recognition.

Congratulations to Pete and Kim Suter of Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Co., downtown Bluffton. The company is among finalists for the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce Emerging Business of the Year Award. Other businesses nominated are Biggby Coffee and Vino Bellissimo, both of Lima.

It's another Bluffton

Take a second look. It's Bluffton "Township" fire department. The patch is part of the Bluffton "village" police department patch collection on display in the town hall. This patch is from Bluffton, South Carolina.

A Main Street Bluffton Heritage Center may become a reality, thanks to a group of historical-minded persons working on the project.

The Bluffton Heritage Center Project is the topic of the 7:30 a.m., Friday, April 8, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast held in the third floor of the town hall. The breakfast is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required by Wednesday, April 6, to [email protected].

Bluffton council okayed a 2011street maintenance program on Monday that, when added together in one length, extends for more than one mile.
