The Findlay Municipal Court will be hosting its fourth annual DUS Clinic on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:00 p.m. The DUS (Driving Under Suspension) Clinic is a workshop intended to assist those who have a suspended driver’s license to obtain a valid driver’s license or driving privileges while pursuing full reinstatement.

The Court will work with individuals outlining all issues and the steps involved to successfully reinstate their license. Over the last 3 years the Court has assisted over 250 individuals with their driver’s license issues.

Linda Sue Steele, 71, passed away September 15, 2022 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Linda was born November 9, 1950 in Lima to the late William and Marcella (Motter) Helminger.  On March 26, 1971 she married Richard Steele. 

Linda graduated from Bluffton High School and retired from Ex-Cello/Pure Pak after 28 years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Church of Christ, Bluffton.  Linda enjoyed playing bingo, traveling and watching football especially the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, will observe the annual Shipwreck Remembrance on Sunday, September 18. The services, at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m., will give praise to the Lord for saving the lives of passengers on the “Famous Dove” when it was shipwrecked off the east coast of the United States on September 17, 1831. Many of the passengers coming from Germany were the founders of Trinity and many fourth through seventh generation descendants are members today.

The village of Mount Cory was established in 1872 and on Saturday, September 17, the community will be celebrate its Sesquicentennial.  A parade and festival will mark the 150th Anniversary of its founding.

2:00 p.m. - Sesquicentennial Parade (Legacy Coop to Village Park)
3:00-5:00 p.m. - Romick’s Railway rides
3:00-6:45 p.m. - Baskets-Prize Raffle in park Community Building
3:00-7:00 p.m.

VOLLEYBALL VS. ONU
The Bluffton University volleyball team battled Ohio Northern in three tight sets, but the visiting Polar Bears walked away winners on Sept. 14. Bluffton fell to 5-4 on the season, while ONU improved to 6-2.

Freshman Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) was nearly unstoppable with eight kills against just one error for a .389 hitting percentage. Alysha Like (McComb) added eight hammers, while Kaylie Campbell (Camden/Preble Shawnee) smacked seven kills with a .300 hitting percentage.
