August 2010

Anne and Justin Taylor

Rumor has it you were in Bluffton recently. Did you get to take a plane ride with your brother, Kevin?

Yes, I did actually! Kevin took my mom and me up for an hour flight around Bluffton and Lima. It was smooth and we even did a touch and go in Lima. We flew over the Lima Prison, the Mall, the Allen County Fair, the reservoir and Suter's corn maze. It was so fun!

How has the town changed since your childhood days? What do you miss?

The BHS girls' tennis team placed fifth at the Lima City Invitationals last Saturday, behind four Western Buckeye League teams.

Ashlin Gable and Emily Sprague combined to win the A flight doubles, taking three matches in straight sets. Jess Hunter won one match before losing in the semifinals, while Kristi Geiser and Liz Diller won their first match and were eliminated in the semifinals.

The netters are at Bath Tuesday and host Wapakoneta, the Lima champions, Wednesday at Harmon Field courts.

You are looking at a photo by Will Triplett taken in Bluffton in 1895. The bridge crosses the Riley on Main Street, yet the note taken by Photographer Triplett read "Bridge on Indian Trail." This confirms the story that Main Street was in fact originally a trail of Native Americans.
