Leonard A. Rieman, 90 of Columbus Grove, died at 4:25 pm July 8, 2012, at Putnam Acres, Ottawa. He was born May 11, 1922, in Glandorf to Louis and Appolonia Maag Rieman. On April 14, 1948 he married Rosella F. Diemer and she preceded him in death on April 11, 2005.
Mr. Rieman was a farmer and also retired from Phillips ECG, Ottawa. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton, where he had served on the parish council.
AEP Ohio has restored power to approximately 98 percent of the approximately 660,000 customers affected by the catastrophic
storm that moved through the state June 29 and the additional customers
who lost power in subsequent storms July 4 and 5.
As of 8 p.m. tonight (July 8), power has been restored to approximately 646,000 of the customers affected by these storms. Approximately 14,000 AEP Ohio customers remain without power tonight.

If anyone watches college football, many would agree that the sport is fun to watch, with all of the upsets and great matchups. But, one would also know that it can be frustrating at times as well, especially if your team was not selected by a hand full of computers to play in the National Title Game.
Bluffton's most ambitious infrastructure projects in several years will begin place soon. On Monday evening Bluffton council will act on accepting two water main replacement projects. The two projects total nearly three-quarters of a million dollars.
They involve Lawn Avenue-Jackson Street-Grove streets, and Mound-Cherry streets water main replacements.

Through our continuing rebuilding efforts, AEP Ohio has
restored power to approximately 88 percent of the approximately 660,000 customers affected by the catastrophic storm that moved through the state June 29 and the additional customers who lost power in subsequent storms July 4 and 5.
As of 5:00 p.m. today, power has been restored to approximately 581,000 of the customers affected by these storms. Approximately 79,000 AEP Ohio customers remain without power this afternoon.
Two teachers were offered contracts during a special meeting of the Bluffton school board on July 5.
Kevin King, Bluffton, was hired as Spanish teacher at Bluffton High School. He received a one-year contract (MA step 6), $44,383. He replaces Julie Heckman who resigned.
Ashley Steveley, Wapakoneta, was hired as BHS intervention specialist. She received a one-year contract (MA step 4), $41,302. She replaces Karen Kussmaul, who retired.
According to Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent, these two hiring complete the vacancies at Bluffton for 2012-13.
Bluffton is featured in the current e-mailed Lima/Allen County Convention and Visitors' Bureau Community Calendar of Events. The calender has previously been a mailed piece. It is now available by e-mail.
The calendar lists activities held in Allen County that are open to the public. The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce lists several items taking place in Bluffton throughout the year in the Calendar of Events.
