Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs, partnering with Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce and The Centre, will hold a "Bluffton Oscars Mix & Mingle" night from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 24, at The Centre at Bluffton, 601 N. Main St.
The event, free and open to the public, invites businesses in Allen, Putnam, Hardin and Hancock to have a table to display their products and services. It also enables business owners to network with other business owners in a business expo format.
The Rockford University Board of Trustees announced that Eric Fulcomer, Ph.D., has been appointed as the 18th president of Rockford University, Rockford, Ill., and to succeed Robert L. Head, Ph.D., who is retiring June 30, 2016.
Dr. Fulcomer is the current vice rresident for enrollment management at Rockford University and has more than two decades of leadership experience in higher education.
The next PrimeTimers event is on Tuesday, March 1, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 2, Pandora.
PrimeTimers is a non-denominational, community fellowship gathering for adults 55 and over hosted at St. John Mennonite Church in Pandora. This event will feature a hymn sing, with Dr. Joyce Jackson accompanying on piano.
The meal will include: baked ham, scalloped potatoes, glazed carrots, dinner rolls, coleslaw, cupcakes and coffee. There is no cost for the event, but donations are accepted.
Burl J. “Jerry” Moyer, 86, of Pandora died at 11 p.m., Feb. 21, 2016 at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. Jerry was born June 6, 1929,in Findlay to Burl J. Moyer and Ruth West Moyer. On June 13, 1965 he married Delores Hanna and she survives.

On March 15, the Bluffton Exempted Village School District is seeking the renewal ½ % income tax for permanent improvements. This is not a new tax; it is a renewal of an existing tax for three years.

Two Bluffton High School girls' basketball player, both underclassmen, were named first team all-Northwest Conference, as voting was recently completed by league coaches.
Alivia Koenig, freshman, and Abbie Parkins, junior, were named to the first team. In addition, another underclassman, Andie Schmutz, junior, was named honorable mention.
Bluffton finished third in the NWC with a 6-2 record. The team, loaded with underclassmen, went 15-6 overall.
