...and Bluffton fire fighters will read holiday stories to youth...don't forget that there are also refreshments

Santa Claus is coming to town on Tuesday.

He'll arrive in a large Bluffton fire truck and will meet youth of all ages at the Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., according to Jessica Hermiller, library administrator.

Explaining why Santa arrives on a fire truck instead of a sleigh, Hermiller told the Icon, "Santa's sleigh is in the shop and the Bluffton Fire Department is helping him out. Join us Tuesday, at 6 p.m, in the Youth Services Room to kick off the program with holiday stories read by firefighters."

Created and sold wood novelty products

Note: The Icon acquired a manuscript titled “A Brief History of Bluffton’s Industrial Developments.” This publication was prepared by the classes in Marketing and Small Business Administration from Bluffton College, under the director of Dr. Howard Raid. Publication date is May 1959. We’ve updated some current addresses so viewers may identify locations.

Here's a very interesting photograph from the 1986 Bluffton 125th anniversary parade.

It's the Bluffton American Legion Post 382 honor guard. This is one of Bluffton's oldest continually operating units going back to the end of World War I.

We see Don Martz (far right) making certain the lines are straight. There's Jean Mueller, Bill Mericle, Gene Mericle and Robert Stratton. Icon views, please help with more IDs.
