Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, will have an open house and registration night on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Prospective, new, and current families are welcome to attend and tour the school. Teachers will be in their classrooms to meet with families and answer any questions.

New families are welcome to register for the 2019-2020 school year. Stop by the gymnasium for complimentary pizza, cookies, and snacks. Call 419-326-4685 for more information.

Transition Bluffton will host a Swap Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.

Bring new, unwanted items or gently used, no longer needed things to trade for something that you can use. Items for the swap will include:
• clothing
• small appliances
• tools
• books
• other miscellaneous items.

Bring items to trade between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Swapping begins at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

Bluffton school board will reorganize for 2019 at Monday's meeting. In addition, meeting dates will be set, and a few contracts will be offered.

The board's agenda is attached.

Clarence Bigelow, 86, of Bluffton, died on Jan. 13, 2019, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay.  Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Bluffton schools are on a two-hour delay this morning, Monday, Jan. 14.

(BLUFFTON) - The Pirate boys basketball team needed a win to refresh the season and they earned a run away victory over Fort Jennings Saturday night by a season 56-31 count.  The win snapped a three game losing skid for Bluffton and improved the Pirates’ record to 9-3 on the year.  Fort Jennings dropped to 2-10 with the loss.

(BLUFFTON) – The student section was decked out in fishing gear but sadly, the Pirates came up empty.  Bluffton’s boys basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season on a last second banked three pointer in overtime.  Final score : Lincolnview 55 Bluffton 52. Bluffton is now 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference.  Lincolnview is 6-5 and 2-1. 

The Bluffton University men's basketball team won a defensive showdown against HCAC-leading Rose-Hulman, 55-49, on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019. Despite the Beavers holding an 11-point lead at the break, the Engineers made a late surge and cut their deficit to one when Craig McGee hit a layup with 4:23 left in the game. The Beavers responded with eight straight points to secure the victory. Bluffton improved to 12-3 overall and tied for first at 6-2 in the Heartland Conference, while Rose-Hulman slipped to 10-5 overall and 6-2 in the HCAC.

The Bluffton University women's basketball team dropped a 63-34 decision to Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019. Bluffton falls to 5-10 on the season (3-5 HCAC), while Rose improved to 10-5 and 7-1 in the conference.
