Bluffton University will present “Guys and Dolls” as the May Day musical May 3 to 4 at 7:30 p.m. each evening in Founders Hall.
This iconic Broadway show features popular songs such as “Luck Be a Lady,” “If I Were a Bell” and “Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat.” Based on characters from short stories written by Damon Runyon, “Guys and Dolls” is a high-energy production with broad appeal for a wide range of ages.

Bluffton Public Library's monthly adult book discussion group will be discussing "The Heart's Invisible Furies" by John Boyne at their upcoming May 1 meeting.
The book discussion is at noon, Wednesday, May 1, in the library. The monthly discussion group is open to new members and registration is suggested. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month, and occasionally has the author visit via Skype.

Keith Sommer and Rachel Friesen will present a program on the textiles used by settlers in the Bluffton-Pandora area during the period of 1833-1863, sponsored by the Swiss Community Historical Society.
The society's spring program is at 5 p.m, Sunday, April 28, in the Maple Crest Patio Room, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton.
Sommer and Friesen will discuss and show linen and wool garments from the society's collection as well as flax grown, harvested and processed at the Schumacher Homestead in summer 2018 and spring 2019.
