The Bluffton Senior Citizen Center, 132 N. Main, has organized three travel opportunities for seniors in June, August and September 2022. The trips will be led by the center's director, Tonya Meyer. Here are her descriptions of the highlights and costs.

June 13 -18 Vintage Illinois

Linda “Lin” Rumer, 73 passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2021 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. 

Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Bluffton Village Council held a regular meeting on Monday, November 22 with the Icon reporter comprising the audience. The council packet is attached.

Council advanced four pieces of legislation, all dealing with financial matters.

Ohio Northern University’s HealthWise Pharmacy, 511 W Lincoln Ave, Ada, reminds families that they need to make an appointment for COVID-19 vaccinations on campus for children ages 5-11.

Parents can sign up their child to receive the Pfizer pediatric COVID vaccine by going to https://gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov/ 

If you do not see available appointments, please check back the next day. Appointments are posted two weeks ahead of time.

November 24-26, No School K-12 – Thanksgiving Vacation

Poet, songwriter, and activist Terry Hermsen will perform songs from his new album Dance Floor at the End of Time: Songs for a Regenerative Earth at 7 p.m. on November 22 at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St.

Hermsen is a leader of ROAR (Regional Ohio Action for Resilience) which organizes climate change projects in central Ohio. His Bluffton friends and collaborators include Kathy Dickson. Hermson asks the audience to bring their own “calls to the earth,” poems and readings for a time of sharing and reflection.

Bluffton area businesses are hosting the following holiday season events and workshops.

Blended Roots, 246 Cherry St, has announced two holiday craft workshops: 6-8 p.m. on December 2: Tomato Cage Christmas Tree workshop, $73 + tax. Participants must purchase a ticket in advance (available in store or at www.blended-roots.square.site.) Noon-2 p.m. on December 11: Kids Candy Cane Wreath, $10 + tax. Advance ticket not required.
