Dry Conditions Continue

Continued dry weather last week negatively affected crops, according to Ben Torrance, State Statistician, USDA NASS, Ohio Field Office. Topsoil moisture conditions were rated 33 percent very short, 42 percent short, and 25 percent adequate. Statewide, the average temperature for the week ending on August 25 was 65.3 degrees, 4.9 degrees below normal.

The new school year kicked off at the Bluffton Exempted Village Schools on Monday, August 26. Keep your eyes open for students as they walk, bike and ride the bus to school. PHOTOS by Jamie Nygaard.

The flurry of building Bike-Pedestrian Pathways on the east side of Bluffton has resulted in two great new pathways. We will celebrate the County Line Path next Tuesday.

Please join us at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, as we dedicate the Lions Way County Line Path. The ceremony will take place in front of the Bluffton Child Development Center along County Line Road. Signs will direct you to parking.

NOTE: The Vine St. stages will be open later than neighborhood locations. If any players want to join there, it will be open to audience participation.

Porch Fest is coming to Bluffton on Saturday, August 31. This community-wide music festival held on porches throughout the Bluffton community will feature 15 different performers/groups playing at 12 different locations. 

Munroe Township Road closures on August 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for asphalt paving:

  • Hook-Waltz Road between the railroad and Stewart Road
  • Ramsey Road between Hook-Waltz and Hillville roads
