FINDLAY__The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation Board of Trustees approved grants totaling $544,997 at the November board meeting. This total includes 18 responsive grants, four president’s discretionary grants and 31 donor advised fund grants.
Bluffton University presents its 129th performance of Handel’s “Messiah” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, in Yoder Recital Hall. While tickets are free, space needs to be reserved at www.bluffton.edu/tickets. A free-will offering will be taken for music scholarships.
Swimming and Diving returns to Canton for Malone Invitational
(November 16-18) CANTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University Swimming and Diving Team traveled back to Canton for the Malone Invitational last Thursday, Nov. 16 through Saturday, Nov. 18. Bluffton's men took 13th, while the women placed 14th, scoring 281.5 points at the Branin Natatorium.
An author event celebrating the release of Tobias S. Buckell’s novel, “A Stranger in the Citadel,” will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30 in the reading room of Bluffton University’s Musselman Library.
Buckell’s thirteen novels and numerous short stories have been translated into 20 different languages. He is a New York Times bestselling writer and World Fantasy Award winner who has also been nominated for the Hugo and Nebula awards. During the event, Buckell will read from, “A Stranger in the Citadel.”
In addition to teaching, Buckell serves as the faculty advisor for “Bridge: The Bluffton University Literary Journal.” He is a 2000 Bluffton graduate.
