Developers claim $20,000 prize for designing social VR experience
Bluffton residents Ross Kauffman and Tobias S. Buckell were awarded first prize in the Meta (formerly Facebook) Horizon Worlds Builder Tracks competition. The duo claimed the $20,000 prize for constructing the "Studio 51" experience in Meta's Horizon World platform, a social virtual reality (VR) program that allows players to interact in user-created worlds.
The Bluffton University President’s Ambassadors Program has been recognized with a 2022 Independent College Advancement Associates (ICAA) Program of Excellence Award.
Robin Bowlus, vice president of enrollment management and advancement, and Claire Clay, director of public relations and enrollment operations, attended the conference in Cleveland this summer where the award was presented. Clay leads the President’s Ambassadors program which is currently comprised of 28 Bluffton sophomores, juniors and seniors who represent a variety of majors and campus involvement.

ALLEN COUNTY: Bridge joint repair work on Interstate 75 between Fourth Street and Bluelick Road will resume this week (August 15). Expect lane restrictions and traffic delays to begin in the northbound lanes then switching to southbound lanes later in the week.
