Kenneth Eugene Mast, 99, of Crystal River, FL passed away April 10, 2025, in Lecanto. He was born on February 2, 1926, to Abraham and Esther Mast in Sugar Creek, OH.

Kenneth and family learned to sing and dance in their early years and were featured on the “Major Bowes Original Amateur Hour Radio Show”. He graduated from Sugar Creek High School, OH then joined the US Navy where he served during WWII in Hawaii. During his service, Kenneth enjoyed playing on the basketball team and entertaining the troops with music.

Alger photographer Raquel Massie shared this impressive bald eagle sighted on April 5 from the shelter house at Bluffton Village Park. "I love going through there every chance I can," she notes. An Ohio DNR map shows eagle's nests in the neighborhood of Bluffton and Beaverdam.

WLIO-Hometown Stations reported a barn fire on Hillville Rd. between Bentley and County Line roads on the afternoon of April 24.

The barn was destroyed and siding was damaged on nearby buildings. 

Bluffton Fire Department responded to the call for service. A controlled burn was the source of the fire.

The Village of Bluffton Council will hold a regular meeting on Monday, April 28 with the attached agenda. It includes the following legislation.

Hearts touches, lives changed

Media release__The sixth annual CRHS Community Day took our students and staff across the district and beyond. Community Day brings service learning to life for all of our students in grades 7 through 12.

The Bluffton Senior Citizen Center, 132 N. Main St., is sharing 11 pages of news with its members for May 2025. Whether you are a snow bird or a year-round participant, BSC Happenings keeps folks up to date on events and opportunities found at the center. It is available by mail or email.

The center will celebrate Dorothy Hawkes' 90th birthday at the May 12 dinner program with music by One Voice, a Bluffton High School ensemble led by Kevin Gratz, and meal by Ted's Market.
