Bluffton Icon viewers thoroughly enjoyed the April 8 total solar eclipse as seen from back yards and our local parks. 

Jack and the Beanstalk

What happens when a young boy plants wonder beans in his own backyard? For Jack, it is the beginning of a great adventure. Audiences are invited to performances of Jack and the Beanstalk by the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) and the Kindergarten through 8th grade students at Trinity Lutheran School.

Wondering about recent weather? Attatched are March 2024 National Weather Service observations at the Lima Municipal Airport.

These highlights include the amount of precipitation and the minimum, maximum, and average temperature for each day of March.

So far April 2024 has been a bit damp. But on sunny, mild April 14 it was also bursting with blooms around every corner.

HARROD__The visiting Bluffton softball team lost a wild 20-14 seesaw battle to local rival Allen East in their weather-delayed Northwest Conference opener on Saturday, April 13.

ABOVE) Jenna Juarez of Fremont, Ohio, earned first place with “Promoting Peace in Skilled Nursing Facilities.” BELOW) Presentations were made by Jenna Juarez, Jenia Freewalt, Zach Boch, Carter Ritchey, Micah Dodson and Kennedy Parker.

Feeling valued is even more important for those living in skilled nursing facilities according to Bluffton University junior Jenna Juarez. She advocated for including meaningful daily activities for elders in her winning speech during the C. Henry Smith Peace Oratorical Contest at Bluffton.
