Topp Chalet, 229 W. Fifth St., Delphos, will host this month’s Lincoln Highway Association Western Ohio Chapter meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 16. 

After attendees order dinner individually from the menu, a small business meeting will take place and then the group will travel to 327 S. Bredeick St. in Delphos around 7:15 p.m. to visit the former home of world renowned astronomer, Leslie Peltier. 

The Gardeners of America Club will meet Tuesday, July 7, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., will be a tour open to the public of the cooperative farm located at 9160 Putnam Road, Pandora.

Ray Person will lead  members through the garden plots, sharing good practices and tips, so members might learn how to improve their own results.

It’s called the Community-to-Classroom (C2C) Living-Learning Community, but “community” isn’t the only word you might hear more than once in a discussion of the campus program that debuted in 2014-15.

First-year education majors who spent the year together on the fourth floor of Neufeld Hall also talked about “bonds,” “family,” “friends” and “home” when describing their shared experiences this spring.

Each week this summer the Icon will feature a Bluffton Farmers' Market vendor. This series begins with information about Andrew Glover, from Bradner, who offers herbs at the market.

Here's Glover's explanation of his background and interest in farmers' markets:

I originally came to live in the United States in 2003 from the United Kingdom. I am based on Bradner Road just north of Bradner in east Wood county.

There's flowers on the street and now hanging baskets with flowers above the street. It's Bluffton's summer Main Street downtown look. Stratton's Greenhouses recently placed eight hanging baskets on light poles throughout the business district.

A team is being organized for the ALS Columbus Walk in honor of Phillip
Kingsley. This event takes place on Sunday September 27, 2015. Check in is at
9:30 a.m. and the 1.5 mile walk begins at 11 a.m. If you would like to donate, or
