The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) has selected both Cory-Rawson Elementary School and Cory-Rawson High School as Purple Star Schools for its 2025 class.  

Purple Star Schools show a strong commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.  

ODEW shared that the state’s Purple Star Advisory Board established strict criteria in order for schools to be considered for the designation and both of the Cory-Rawson schools met those standards.

In a departure from Bluffton Lions tradition, over 100 individuals were honored as 2024 Citizens of the Year at an April 15 celebration. Volunteers who support the three Et Cetera Inc. shops–the Et Cetera Thrift Shop, Book ReViews and Bluffton Ten Thousand Villages–were recognized for their impact on Bluffton’s downtown commercial district.

CHILICOTHE __ Twenty-six rural hospitals are launching the Ohio High Value Network (OHVN) to collaborate on clinical and business initiatives to strengthen healthcare in rural communities across the state, OHVN announced today.

The network’s foundation is a clinically integrated network (CIN) caring for a population of more than 2.5 million patients.

On March 2 the Bluffton Boys and Girls 4-H Club elected the following officers:

UPDATED APRIL 17 Health Action Council awards funds in Healthy Kids Spring Step It Up Challenge

Team “Battling for Bikes” from Bluffton Elementary School earned first place in the Spring Step It Up Challenge.

Team members Jaime Combs, Heidi Steiner and Ryan Dunlap won $1,500 for their school and averaged 822,945 steps.
