Edgar E. Wenger, 77 of Bluffton died at 2:48 p.m., Wednesday April 7, 2010, at Bluffton Hospital Emergency Room. Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton.

Mary Barnett

Mary Marshall Barnett of Bluffton will celebrate 90 years on April 16 with a family dinner. Mary is a graduate of Bluffton High School and Bowling Green State University. She is married to Robert Barnett and has two sons, David (Marilyn) of Albany, N.Y., and Jim (Nancy) of Syracuse, N.Y. Her daughter Jayne (Richard) McGarrity lives in Bluffton. She has 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Alycia Althaus, a clarinetist from Findlay, will perform her Bluffton University senior recital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25, in Yoder Recital Hall on the Bluffton campus. The recital is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the lobby.

A student of Dr. Adam Schattschneider, professor of music, Althaus will present five pieces, including "Concerto for Clarinet, K. 622" by Mozart; "Sonata in F minor, Op. 120, No. 1" by Brahms; "Sonata for Clarinet" by Paul Hindemith; and "Arabesques" by Paul Jeanjean.

Bluffton University softball team to Strike-Out Cancer on April 24

The Bluffton University softball team will host its annual Strike-Out Cancer fundraiser for the American Cancer Society on Saturday, April 24. The Beavers will meet Anderson University in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at the university softball field.

There are several ways to donate.

A donation of $25 will sponsor any individual player on the team. To sponsor an additional player is $20.
