The visiting Bluffton High School baseball team shut out Delphos Jefferson 3-0 to win their Northwest Conference opener Monday evening, April 10.

Bluffton improved to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with the win. The Wildcats fell to 1-7 overall and 1-1 in league play after the defeat.

The Pirates host McComb (3-4) Tuesday and visit Ottoville (0-5) Wednesday.

DELPHOS–The visiting Bluffton High School softball team won its Northwest Conference opener 5-4 in eight innings at Delphos Jefferson Monday evening, April 10.

The Pirates improved to 5-4 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with the win. DJ dropped to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the NWC after the loss.

The Bluffton High School boys tennis team lost at Van Wert 3-2 Monday evening.

The Pirate record fell to 2-3 with the loss. VW improved to 3-2 with the win.

The following story from the March 7, 1895, Bluffton News, reports on a most unusual response in Beaver Dam (Beaverdam), which resulted from this vote. It is posted word by word.

The spray paint markings on Main St., including the business and residential sections, are instructions for crews that will be replacing aging concrete curbs, driveway entrances and sections of sidewalk.

Delmer C. Nuzum Sr., 87, passed away April 9, 2023 at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima.  Delmer was born April 15, 1935 in Leroy, West Virginia to the late Olin and Anna (Wilkinson) Nuzum.  On June 23, 1956 he married Nina Fruth Nuzum who preceded him in death on February 25, 2014. 

Delmer graduated from Gilmore School in Sandyville, West Virginia. He retired as a cutter grinder from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. Delmer enjoyed searching for arrowheads, fishing and hunting.  He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
