What's the big deal about this little guy? For starters, he's waaaaaay off course. This black-bellied whistling duck is native to the Gulf Coast. What he's doing in the Buckeye Quarry is anyone's guess. The Icon found him on the Main Street side of the Buckeye.

What's popping in Bluffton? Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Co. is popping. They are popping up a wide array of flavors made fresh every day.
Shirley's was founded in 2009 by Peter and Kim Suter of Bluffton. They believe that everyone deserves access to great popcorn, regardless of whether they live in a small town or a big city.
The Inn at Ohio Northern University is offering a special Veterans Day Tea Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 11, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Inn.
All Veterans will be honored with a free Tea Celebration at The Inn.

Traditional Tea is offered on Thursdays at The Inn from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Groups of 20 or more may request tea on an alternate day.

Maintain Your Brain!
To help baby boomers and all Americans live a brain-healthy lifestyle and potentially reduce their risk for Alzheimer's disease, the Alzheimer's Association is offering a "Maintain Your Brain" program on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Patio Room (700 Maple Crest Court).
The 47th Annual Missions Festival at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton, will feature Dr. David E. Draper as speaker for both Sundays.
The conference will be held Nov. 14 through Nov. 21. Dr. Draper is president of Winebrenner Theological Seminary, Findlay. He is an ordained pastor with the Eastern Regional Conference of the Churches of God and served as pastor of Mt. Pleasant Church of God (Ohio) and Pleasantville Church of God (Maryland).
