Elizabeth Fields 1909- 2009
Elizabeth I. Fields, 100, of Bluffton and formerly of Mt. Cory died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
She was born on July 7, 1909, in Mt. Cory to William and Sophia (Fox) Falk. On July 22, 1934, she married James A. Fields in Clay County, Arkansas, and he passed away Sept. 25, 1991.
Mrs. Fields retired after teaching at Holgate, Ohio; Paducah, Kentucky; and Brookport, Illinois. She was a member of the Mt. Cory United Methodist Church. She was a 1927 graduate of Mt. Cory High School and attended Bluffton College and Ohio Northern University.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Marlene) Fields of Rawson; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son James Fields; a daughter Jacqueline Fields; brothers Donald and Robert Falk; an infant brother; and sisters Winona Falk, Marguerite Wittenmyer, Dorothy Johnson, and LeVon Trask.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday Nov. 2, 2009 at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Rev. Jerry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery, Mt. Cory. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
