Here's a license plate from south of the Ohio River. The Icon spotted this Kentucky plate in the Bluffton Hospital parking lot last week.

It's another certain sign of spring - the SHANNON Service Club's community garage sale and chicken barbecue take place at the end of this month.

Garage sale Feb. 24-25

The commuity garage sale is Friday, Saturday, Feb 24-25. It's the ninth annual sale. Hour are Friday, Feb. 24, from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is at The Centre, 601 N. Main Street. Parking is free and admission is just $1. Based upon previous events, the sale traditionally attracts from 30 to 35 vendors.

Here's a Valentine's Day option: a dessert bar and homemade candy service that will win over any chocolate lover, with a concert by Ann and Phil Case.

It all takes place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the town hall as part of the continuing Town Hall Concert Series. The program is free and donations are accepted.
