On June 28, 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled, in a landmark decision, that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), including the provision that most Americans carry health insurance or pay a penalty, is constitutional.

As of 5 p.m. July 4, AEP Ohio, through our rebuilding efforts, has restored power to approximately 74 percent of the 660,000 customers affected by the catastrophic storm that moved through the state June 29 and the additional 20,000 who lost power in the July 1 evening
storm.

Approximately 171,000 AEP Ohio customers remain without power across our service territory this afternoon.

As AEP Ohio continues to restore electric service to the more than 660,000 customers who were left without electricity by Friday's windstorm, company officials are reminding customers that some repairs to the customers' premises cannot be performed by AEP Ohio employees.

In instances where the storm has damaged customer's wiring or

equipment, the customer needs to contact a qualified electrician to ensure that their home can accept AEP Ohio's service when crews arrive to make repairs.

The American Red Cross cooling center in the Multi-Purpose Building of the Hancock County Humane Society will remain open on Thursday, according to Executive Director Todd James.

"Our operation of the cooling center will be decided on a day by day basis, based on the number of people coming to the center each day and the number of homes in the area still without power." James says the center served over eighty meals on the 4th of July.

Get out of the heat on Thursday and Friday (July 5-6) with free and cool entertainment at the Shannon Theatre.

From 1 to 5 p.m. on both days, Shannon Theatre will continuously loop about an hour's worth of classic 1940's and 1950's cartoons, as well as about 30 minutes worth of previews for up-coming movies.

The air conditioning set at a chilly 70 degrees, and with free admission, anyone may come and go as you like, all afternoon.

The theatre will mix the content up between Thursday and Friday so that persons can join us both days
