Vintage car night

Some Bluffton residents are taking on a big and long challenge this week.

Everett Collier, Marilyn Bishop, Bill Suter and Pat and Dennis Sheidler, are participating in a bike path ride called Rails and Trails Greenway Sojourn.

The event takes place Sunday, June 17, to Sunday, June 24, and begins at the nation's capital, Washington, D.C.

Richland Manor, 7400 Swaney Road, Bluffton, will host its fifth annual Friday Night Cruise-in on June 22 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The event will have food, including hot dogs and hamburgers and a DJ playing music from the '50s and '60s era.

"We just want people to come out, look at cars, eat food and listen to music," said Barry Schneck, community services representative for Richland Manor.

The event will be the same as in years' past but Schneck says this year's event includes Richland Manor's second annual independence from hunger food drive.

Golf scramble winning team

The team of Bob Hollar, Dan Garlock, George Hakin and Joe Bailey won the second annual Friends of the Bluffton Public Library golf scramble, held June 9, at the Bluffton Golf Club.

Nine teams participated in the second annual "Birdies for Bookworms" golf scramble.

Following the round of golf and several proximity contests on the course, players enjoyed a dinner and the distribution of door prizes.

Citizens National Bank has introducted now Popmoney, which allows for person-to-person payments.

Person-to-person payments allow customers to pay anyone electronically directly to their checking or savings account without writing and depositing a check.

Popmoney, is now available for CNB customers to use through its online banking bill payment service. All that is need is an email address, mobile phone number or account number of the recipient.

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association will conduct its annual outdoor community worship service at 9 a.m., Sunday, July 29, on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.

The theme will be "For the Beauty of the Earth" and we will continue the Vacation Bible School theme from the previous week," according to Rev. Carol Clements, St. John's pastor and ministerial association member. St. John's UCC will host this year's VBS.
