A Harlan's chicken barbecue is planned Friday, Feb. 25, at The Centre at Bluffton. Serving is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Carry out is available or free admission to the garage sale if picked up inside. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased from any S.H.A.N.N.O.N. Bluffton University alumnae can enjoy a day out of the ordinary on Saturday, March 5, when the university's Women's Council hosts the second annual Women R&R (Reconnecting and Reaching Out).
The day of relaxation and reminiscing with college friends includes entertainment, as well as reaching out to current female Bluffton students. Last year's attendees donated $700 to support the Women's Council Professional Enrichment Grant for Women, which helps female students gain professional experience in an anticipated career.
Tickets remain available for the next performance in the 2010-11 Bluffton University Artist Series, by pianist Martina Filjak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in Yoder Recital Hall.
Filjak, who debuted in her native Croatia at age 12, was the first-prize winner among 122 contestants at the 58th International Viotti Piano Competition in November 2007.
