Built in 1914 on the site of a hog farm and slaughterhouse, Ropp Hall at Bluffton University is now a home to more than 200 female students. The original four story brick building still stands to this day, although many changes have been made.
Bluffton University's music department has announced the soloists for its 115th performance of Handel's "Messiah," at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, in Founders Hall. Soloists are Kristin Sims, soprano; Mary Stucky, alto; Hal Hess, tenor; and Tom Sherwood, bass.
Area businesses and organizations are invited to decorate wreaths for Bluffton Public Library's annual Holiday Wreath Festival. Wreaths may be delivered to the library beginning Monday, Nov. 29, and should be picked up between Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, and Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.
"This is not only a great way to take part in the holiday spirit, but also an inexpensive way to advertise your organization to people who visit the library to view the wreaths," said library staff member Leslie Liberato. Guidelines for decorating the wreaths are available at the library.
