Brendon Matthews has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Sales Director at First National Bank.
Matthews joined First National in 2006. He holds a bachelor's degree in English and an MBA from Anderson University. Matthews has nine years of banking experience between his time in Anderson, Ind., and Bluffton. He works in the Bluffton office of First National Bank.
He is active in several civic and community organizations including the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs, where he serves as board president.
First Mennonite Church's BlauRock Cafe will present an evening of celebrating a vision of world peace expressed in music, prose, poetry, and the words of the Martin Luther King Jr.
The event is at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 17, in Fellowship Hall in the church.
The evening includes coffeehouse-style entertainment. Amy Lehman Mikesell, Hassan Mosoka and Shahad Aldoori offer reports of conflict and hope from various parts of the world.
The Bluffton University men's basketball team used a dominating second half performance to down Heartland Conference rival Rose-Hulman on Saturday, January 8, 2011. RHIT led 34-28 at the break before the Beavers came out with a vengeance in period two to secure a 76-64 victory. Bluffton improved to 9-4 overall and 2-4 in the HCAC, while Rose slipped to 9-4 and 3-3 in the conference.
The Bluffton University women's basketball team knocked off Heartland Conference rival Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 58-51 on Saturday, January 8, in Founders Hall. Bluffton improved to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in the HCAC. Rose-Hulman dropped to 2-4 in the conference and 4-9 on the season.
